Dude,

As far as I can tell, “cutting edge” is just a phrase meaning “Irritating and pseudo artistic”. This is a classic example where some greasy refugees from the Geek Squad are used as spectators for no purpose and fools like you buy into it.

Osterlind’s recent stuff? “No Camera Tricks” was released in 2005. Regarding your Bannon remarks, you’ve never heard of Big Blind Media? They’ve been responsible for some of the most cutting edge instructional magic videos released in the last couple of years.

I think what Brooks was talking about is the industrial strength aluminum as opposed to the stuff they make soda cans from. Joe Porpers Strong Box is made from aluminum and it is heavy!

I was quite interested in high end Tenyo as there are some effects that they do which are great but, because of the plastic build, come across as toys.

However I am not sure “Aloominum” as you Americans call it, is much of a better substiture – isn’t one of the cheapest metals around. Brass or wood would have been my choice.

Whats interesting is that the Tenyo topic on the Cafe hasn’t exactly been awash with comments, even from the sycophants since Steve announced a $100 price tag – ouch !!!

I wonder what the percentage of items are non-discountable? I imagine easily over 50%. Seems like it’s ever-growing over the last two years. Eventually the items end up in the clearance section and wholesale deal specials…

I agree completely with this. I would be PISSED if I bought this set after watching it at a friend’s house. (Hey at least I didn’t torrent it right?)

I think there were 3-4 effects that were alright. Mind you, if you get ONE usable thing from a book of video, then the price doesn’t matter… almost.

If it had been me, I would NOT have included instructions on how to open the puzzle box the videos came in. I would have made it where you HAVE to figure it out if you want to see these videos that badly. Would it have pissed some people off? yes. Would it have been funny as hell? Yes!

Wow, you know, of all the ways to ruin card magic, like, this is one of them. The other is to video tape unrehearsed things like this and have the nerve to slop them out onto the internet. What’s next for this “performer,” releasing this as the dvd “flavor of the month?” Un-be-freaking-lievable.
